Julie Gable is President and founder of Gable Consulting LLC. She has more than 25 years experience with real-world approaches to paper and electronic records management. Her specialty is strategic planning for electronic records management, including business case development, cost-benefit analysis, requirements definition and work plan prioritization.
Project experience includes defining policy and practices for records classification, indexing, retention and disposition. She has assisted many entities with specification and selection of records management software solutions.
Ms. Gable is the Associate Executive Editor of ARMA’s Information Management Journal. Her articles have appeared in The Records and Retrieval Report, Imaging World, The Dallas News, Finance Canada, Forbes, and CIO Decisions. Her popular column, "The Information Lifecycle," appeared in Transform Magazine for several years.
She is the author and developer of three FileNet customer education courses: RM & Email Basics; Compliance & Standards Basics; and RM Best Practices. She is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.
Ms. Gable has a BS in Management from Drexel University and an MBA in Finance from St. Joseph's University. Industry certifications include Certified Records Manager (CRM), Certified Document Imaging Architect (CDIA), and AIIM's Master and Laureate of Information Technology (MIT, LIT) for achievement in document imaging and document management. In 2003, Ms. Gable was named a Fellow of ARMA International (FAI) in recognition of distinguished service to the information management profession.
